Hi, I'm Gail
WHERE I COME FROM
I live in Baldwinsville, New York, with my wife, Jen, and our two children: Graeme, 13, and Oliver, 9. I received my high school diploma from Jamesville-Dewitt High School and graduated from Empire State College. My degree is a BA in Social Theory, Social Structure & Change, with a concentration in Leadership.
Over the years, I've lived on two continents and worked a variety of jobs in different fields, including language and management. As an English as a Second Language teacher, I taught students in Minsk, Belarus, as well as refugees in Syracuse, NY, through CYO and InterFaith Works. During my time overseas, I was also a language consultant on books and video games, as well as an editor of content for official foreign government websites. My management experience includes operations management and entrepreneurship. I was a general manager for a large pizza chain, and an accomplished massage therapist. Helping people has always been a core value and interest in my life.
Currently, I homestead, and I'm involved with many of the pressing issues facing our community. Last year, I hosted a powerfully charged refugee “meet and greet” in Baldwinsville. I have been involved in several charitable organizations, including Catholic Charities, Kindred Hearts Animal Rescue, Duck Race to End Racism, and WXXE Community Radio. I constantly strive to better the circumstances in the communities I live in, the state I live in, and the country I love.
